Trekking to this region lures thousands of adventure seekers to explore and experience high mountain valleys, high passes, Buddhist culture and stunning Sherpa villages on such high altitudes. Perhaps some may even have a chance to have a glimpse of the Yeti! The local people believe that the Pangboche Monastery actually has in its possession the real scalp of this Himalayan yeti. Trekkers feel satisfied themselves being close to the base of Mt. Everest – the highest mountain in the world.
