Visa/ Special Permit For Foreigners

In addition to an Indian visa, foreign travelers must possess an inner line permit, issued by the Indian Ministry of Home Affairs or
New Sikkim House, both in New Delhi and Sikkim Tourism Office, Siliguri to visit Sikkim. The permit is valid for 15 days. If tourists
want to visit the interior regions, they must also require a protected area permit which is obtainable in Gangtok from the Department of
Tourism. Trans Himalayan Tours & Travels will handle all the official formalities.

When to visit
Available year round, except for the monsoons in July-August. The ideal period is January to May and September to December. Special
monsoon packages are available for the paddy season
